2025 Fall

Almost fall. Ready to make a vat of fresh leaf indigo with the plants in the garden. About 20 plants? Not a lot but enough for a harvest Magic cauldron. I was in northern Japan recently and had a cup of indigo leaf tea- what a revelation! I will be serving tea at Wednesday’s communal dye bath. A healing plant in a time of need. All I can say Arigato, gracias, thank-you.

At the heart of the work is my need to engage with earth, the weather, and grow in trust that life is a force much greater than fear. Birds, water birds, marsh birds, the sky- these are guides - so happy I live in New Mexico. Attending to life keeps me here where I can work like a plant, transforming light and matter into what I hope nourishes the world as well as it does me through the process of making. It’s an eternal raveling and reweaving around here.
